Coronation Picnic in Victoria Park – Sun 7th May 2023 (12-4pm)

Join us for our Big Coronation Picnic at Victoria Park!

Victoria Park neighbourhood residents and friends are warmly welcomed to join us  on Sunday 7 May 2023 from 12noon to 4pm for a community picnic in Victoria Park to celebrate the King’s Coronation together as a community. 

Bring your own picnic, a seat and/or blanket.

  • Drumming-for-wellbeing tasters

@ 12.45pm Prizes for best Kids’ King & Queen of the World costume

To enter, register your child(ren) in advance or turn up on the day with parents dressed as a King or Queen of the World. Prize for best dressed/original costume.

@ 2pm Celebration Cake bake-to-share contest

To enter, bake a coronation themed cake to share for the picnic, register your entry either in advance on this online form or register on the day. Please provide full list of ingredients, and NO NUTSContest will be judged by VPCG trustees and a prize awarded. Cakes will be sliced and shared to participants and friends.

  • Children’s games and ice cream treats provided by Lifespring church.
  • Access to Victoria Park walk via George Street, Great Knollys Street/Hodsoll Road park entrances. 
  • Please ‘think green’, keep plastic use to a minimum and take your litter home.
  • Residents are encouraged to ‘think green’ and keep plastic waste to a minimum and take their own litter home with them after the event to prevent bins overflowing in the area. Connect with your community and get to know your neighbours by sharing in the royal celebrations!  
  • Event organised by the VPCG trustees and other local resident volunteer members with the kind support of Lifespring Church and grant funding from Reading Borough Council.
